Accident Compensation Myth
Invariably every accident victim thinks their case is worth a lot of money, mostly because they have been led to believe that a lawsuit is equivalent to winning the lottery. Some think any injury claim is compensable, and the insurance companies and big business have led people to believe that injury lawsuits are the root of all evil. The reality is that personal injury attorneys are litigating themselves out of a job. Each year the number of lawsuits for personal injuries actually drops. The California courts have been tracking the number of personal injury lawsuits and there has been a steady decrease year after year. In fact many insurance company lawyers defending personal injury lawsuits found themselves out of a job. In the last five years many insurance companies closed down their legal departments and some reduced their staffs, often by as much as 50%. There are just not that many personal injury lawsuits as the public is led to believe. |
